She started off as a child artist in Telugu in Rukmini (Telugu MovieStarring her sister Preetha in lead role) and made her debut as heroinein Kathirs Kadhal Virus. She shifted to Telugu and made it big there.She was critically acclaimed for her performance in AVM's PriyamanaThozhi with Madhavan. On March 18, 2009; she got engaged to an "AmericaMapillai" named Rahul who hails from Hyderabad. Sridevi plans to quitmovie industry after marriage and she prefers to become a goodhomemaker. She got married to Rahul a NRI Indian in June 2009
